Local Section Scholarship Winner
The winner of the 2002 Puget Sound Section AIChE scholarship is:
Ms. Anh Tuy Nguyen is a 2002 graduate of Highline High School in SeaTac, Washington. In addition to a long list of awards and community service activities, Anh ranks number 1 in her high school class. Anh plans to attend the University of Washington to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering. We look forward to Anh becoming a member of AIChE.
Nominees for National Scholarship
In 2002 the Puget Sound Section nominated the following students for a scholarship from AIChE National:

Minority Scholarship for Incoming Freshmen
AIChE National and the Puget Sound Section provide small scholarships to minority students who plan to enroll in an accredited Chemical Engineering Program. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.
The Puget Sound Section mails AIChE Minority Scholarship applications to Puget Sound area high schools in early Spring. The letters state a specific date for the Applications to be returned to the Local Section.

Copies of the Minority Scholarship Application should be sent to both National and the Local Section.
Two local students will be nominated for selection by National. Winners of the National Scholarship are typically notified in June. The Local Section winner is usually notified in late April or early May.
Students from any minority group may apply for the Local Section Minority scholarship. The National Minority Scholarship program is limited to students from minority groups that are underrepresented in the ChE profession.
